The consumer-led CBD craze continues without signs of slowing across the US this month as new products hit shelves in unlikely locations and cannabis companies open CBD-focused retail locations across the country.
Today, Green Growth Brands, Inc. (CSE: GGB; OTCQB: GGBXF) opened another instance of the company’s Seventh Sense Botanical Therapy shop. This latest retail store is now doing business at the Mayfair Mall located in the Greater Milwaukee area.
In a marked shift away from the typical CBD products found in vape shops and smoking accessory outlets, Seventh Sense products revolve around beauty and wellness. The store offers items like body washes, lotions, balms, and bath salts rather than CBD that is meant to be directly ingested as an edible gummy or in vape juice form.
Green Growth has been rapidly opening CBD stores this year in a plan to hit triple digits for overall locations, with shops in Louisville and Indianapolis arriving earlier this month. Chief Executive Officer Peter Horvath commented on the new Milwaukee location:
While cannabis companies had the early advantage in cultivating and supplying hemp-based CBD products, much larger corporations are quickly getting into the game and have dominated headlines in recent weeks.
Notably, two big name pharmacy chains are now jumping on the CBD bandwagon as hemp-derived health and wellness products see a huge boom following the passage of the 2018 US farm bill.
After CVS launched CBD topical products earlier this month, just yesterday Walgreens announced that 1,500 stores in nine states will soon stock a variety of CBD sprays, patches, and creams.
Companies of all sizes have been busy making deals in CBD this year, with Yield Growth Corp. (CSE:BOSS; OTC:BOSQF) acquiring formulas to begin selling CBD infused drinks, while Canopy Growth made headlines by teaming up with Martha Stewart to develop CBD products marketed for pet use.
