Securing a new outlet for providing recreational cannabis in Canada, The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings Ltd. (TSX:TGOD; US:TGODF) just inked a supply deal with Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC).
Negotiated through Velvet Management Inc., the deal sees The Green Organic Dutchman (TGOD) supplying products to Alberta Cannabis, the only official and legal online recreational store for the province.
TGOD entered a partnership with Velvet Management back in November 2018 for distributing organic cannabis products to various provincial liquor and cannabis boards across Canada. Velvet leverages previous experience with premium wine distribution towards the legalized cannabis industry, working as a liaison between producers and liquor / cannabis boards.
Discussing the newly struck supply agreement, TGOD’s Chief Executive Officer Brian Athaide commented:
This new recreational supply deal with Alberta follows The Green Organic Dutchman beginning medical sales through the company’s Growers Club membership at the end of March.
With both recreational and medical sales underway, TGOD has been ramping up production efforts and just received approval from Health Canada to expand cultivation operations at a 20,000 sq. ft. indoor greenhouse facility located in Hamilton, Ontario.
That indoor grow operation is one of three buildings at the Hamilton site, which is projected to span 166,000 sq. ft. of operational space when construction is completed by the end of summer 2019.
In addition to cannabis sales in Canada, the company recently announced international expansion plans into the German CBD market through subsidiary HemPoland. After receiving organic certification last month, HemPoland teamed up with Mediakos UG to begin distributing CBD products under the brand name CannabiGold to pharmacies across Germany.
Aside from European and Canadian operations, TGOD also opened a new retail store in Montego Bay earlier this month, marking the company’s second retail storefront site in Jamaica to date. Opened in conjunction with Epican Medicinals, that second store follows a previous site opened in Kingston.
