Seeking new ways to raise awareness of the increasingly-legalized cannabis industry, companies in both Canada and the U.S. have been busy booking high profile appearances at business and media conferences.
Cannabis cultivation company Green Thumb Industries Inc. (CSE: GTII; OTCQX: GTBIF) announced that CEO Ben Kovler will host a presentation at the 31st Annual ROTH Conference in Laguna Niguel, California this coming Mach 19. A webcast of the appearance will additionally be streamed at the Green Thumb website.
This year’s edition of the ROTH Conference is due to feature more than 500 companies across the mining, oil, healthcare, tech, consumer shopping, and health & wellness sectors.
In addition to panels on understanding millennial buying habits and increasing brand portfolios, the conference will include a “cannabis power hour” with Q&A sessions from a variety of marijuana-based companies.
Green Thumb Industries focuses on both medical and recreational use cannabis and in addition to 11 cultivation facilities, the company runs the RISE chain of retail stores located across Nevada and the U.S. Northeast.
Four new locations are currently planned for New York alongside five in the works in Ohio. Most recently, the first Florida-based RISE storefront opened earlier this year.
That store’s grand opening event at the end of January saw an appearance by retired NFL player Eugene Monroe, a former offensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens. After leaving his football career, Monroe began publicly advocating for the legalization of medical cannabis.
Green Thumb’s Chief Executive Officer is expected to discuss those new store openings at the upcoming business conference.
That ROTH Conference appearance isn’t the only high-profile cannabis company panel scheduled for a nationwide event this month.
Just a handful of days before the ROTH Conference takes place, Acreage Holdings, Inc. (CSE: ACRG.U; OTCQX: ACRGF; FSE: OVZ) will make a presentation at the annual South By Southwest festival.
Both Acreage CEO Kevin Murphy and former Republican House leader John Boehner will speak at South By Southwest on behalf of the cannabis industry.
With recreational marijuana now legalized in 10 U.S. states and full nationwide legalization a hot button topic of the upcoming 2020 U.S. Presidential election, many additional cannabis company panel appearances are expected to be announced in the coming months.
