While Canada still waits on new regulations to arrive in October before rolling out legalized vape products, companies south of the border are taking full advantage of the vaporizer revolution in states where cannabis has been legalized.

Expanding what products are available to patients, U.S. medical marijuana provider Trulieve Cannabis Corp. (CSE: TRUL) today launched the sale of O.penVAPE pens and cartridges.

The first cannabis-infused manufacturer in Colorado, O.penVAPE is now hitting the Florida market through this partnership with Trulieve.

Cartridges for the vape pen are filed with high-potency, CO2 distillate oil that can be released in consistent dosages for patient usage. Florida Trulieve locations are now offering the Jack Herer, Master Kush, and SFV OG strains in O.penVAPE Reserve compatible cartridges.

Aside from the new cartridges, Trulieve dispensaries are also stocking the O.penVAPE 2.0 Variable Voltage Battery for recharging vape pens.

Oils and concentrates as a means of consuming cannabis have skyrocketed in popularity for both medical and recreational purposes, while vape pens have additionally seen a surge in interest since hemp-based CBD products were legalized in the U.S. last year.

In other recent company news, Trulieve just held an annual meeting in which shareholders voted to appoint MNP LLP as corporate auditors for the fiscal year, as well as approving the following new members of the Board of Directors:

  • Kim Rivers
  • Thad Beshears
  • George Hackney
  • Richard May,
  • Michael O’Donnell

Those new members will serve on the Board until the next annual shareholder meeting in June of 2020.

On the expansion front, Trulieve acquired a plot of land back in May for a planned 750,000 sq. ft. automated indoor grow facility in Jefferson County. That site will be utilized to bump up production capacity for flagship Florida dispensaries.

Trulieve is also in the early stages of expanding into multi-state operations beyond the company’s Florida base through the acquisition of The Healing Corner in Connecticut. Aside from offering products directly to patients, The Healing Corner utilizes the Canna-Fill online ordering system and provides education initiatives for Florida physicians.

Plans are additionally in the works for new Trulieve dispensary locations to open in Massachusetts in the coming year.
